The Hertz Car Buying Service makes selling your car quicker and easier than selling it privately. You won't need to purchase local ads, post your car online, or let strangers test drive your car. Instead, just fill out our online form. Once you do, bring your car to our dealership for an official appraisal and receive an offer voucher. Our offer voucher is valid for 7 days1 and can be redeemed for a check.2
Our official appraisal considers the vehicle's age, condition, features and options, and the vehicle's history. We will inspect how your vehicle drives, and verify the condition and mileage. If repairs are needed, we may adjust our offer accordingly. The offer voucher you receive is good for 7 days1. You can redeem the voucher for a check in the amount stated, less any remaining payoff amount if you have a lien on the vehicle.2
Requirements may change state to state, but these items you'll need at the dealership when selling your car:
- Titleholder of car with valid, state-issued photo ID
- Your car's title or payoff information
- Most current and valid registrations
- All sets of keys

If you redeem the voucher between 8am-4pm EST Monday thru Thursday or 8am-3pm EST Friday, you will receive your check on the same day. If the check request is received after these hours, it will be processed on the following business day.

1 The appraised value of your vehicle shall be the same at all Hertz Car Sales stores and is valid for seven (7) days following the date of appraisal, after which time your vehicle will need to be reappraised and its value may change. The appraisal valuation assumes the condition of your vehicle has not changed from the time of the appraisal to the time of sale and that the vehicle continues to conform with all representations made in the Vehicle Purchase Agreement.2 If you redeem the voucher between 8am-4pm EST Monday thru Thurs, or 8am-3pm EST Friday, you will receive your check on the same day. If the check request is received after these hours, it will be processed on the following business day. Your check will be printed in the amount presented on the offer voucher, less the remaining payoff amount if you have a lien on your vehicle.
